There is no exact way to determine the spiritual state of a person: doctors judge the depths of a mental disorder, as a rule, observing the behavior of their patients and from the words of their loved ones. Psychiatrist Aleksander Niculescu (USA) from the University of Indian (USA) completed a study, the results of which will help change the diagnosis and treatment of many mental illness*. He found out that a genetic blood test can give invaluable information about our mental health. A multifactor study allowed scientists to determine a set of 10 genes that begin to “work” in patients with manic-depressive psychosis: they are “active” during manic conditions and “passive” during depression. A genetic blood test is able to predict the condition of patients with an accuracy of 60–80%, allowing them to clearly recognize the periods of excitement and depression in them.
